Behind every unforgettable camp memory is a counselor who made it happen.
The late-night cabin chats. The encouraging high-five at after getting up on waterskis for the first time. The silly skit at closing campfire. The patient voice helping a homesick camper feel safe. Our counselors are the heart of camp, and we can’t wait for you to meet them!
Who They Are
Our counselors come from many backgrounds and many places, but they share one thing in common: they care deeply about the camp experience we provide for campers.
Some are education majors. Some are studying nursing, environmental science, art, recreation, or business. Some are former campers who grew up counting down the days until they were old enough to be on staff. Others discovered camp later in life and immediately knew they had found something special. They are musicians and lifeguards. Athletes and artists. STEM lovers and storytellers. Quiet encouragers and big-energy hype teams.
Before campers ever arrive, our counselors complete thorough training that prepares them to:
- Create inclusive, welcoming spaces
- Prioritize camper and staff safety
- Lead engaging activities
- Navigate challenges with patience
- Build positive, supportive relationships
We look for individuals with integrity, kindness, responsibility, and a genuine desire to serve youth.
Why They Love Camp
Ask a counselor why they love camp, and you’ll rarely get just one answer. These are just a few examples.

Hi, I’m Miss Mich, and this will be my fifth summer at camp. While I’ve served in different roles, my favorite position is being a counselor because I love being right in the middle of the energy, laughter, and growth that happens every day. Camp is special for the simple things like campfire songs, lake swims, messy crafts, inside jokes, and watching friendships form in just a week. During the year, I work in a Montessori school, so I love bringing creativity, patience, and a little bit of classroom magic into everything we do at camp.
- They love the moment a camper conquers a fear and tries something totally out of their comfort zone
- They love watching friendships form between kids who arrived as strangers
- They love unplugging from screens and connecting face-to-face
- They love the traditions, the songs, the games, and the sense of belonging
Camp is one of the few places where kids get to try new things without the pressure of grades, social media, or competition. Counselors get a front-row seat to see independence, confidence, and leadership skills emerging. They get to see campers realize, “I can do this.”
Many of our staff will tell you that camp shaped who they are. It gave them mentors, lifelong friends, and a sense of purpose. Now, they return to create that same space for the next generation of campers.

Hey guys, I am Brooke or Miss Brooke, I will be a cabin counselor and help lead the arts programs at camp this year. I love camp as its a place you truly get to be yourself and meet new people, that alone has something magical in it. A fun fact is I have never broken a bone (I don’t know how, I am so clumsy)!
More than a Summer Job
For our counselors, camp isn’t just employment. It’s a calling. It’s choosing to invest their time, energy, and heart into something bigger than themselves. It’s modeling respect, resilience, and joy. It’s showing up fully present for the kids in their care. And while campers certainly grow during their time here, counselors do too. They develop leadership skills, adaptability, teamwork, communication, and confidence that serve them long after summer ends.
The Heart of Camp
When parents entrust us with their children, we don’t take that lightly. Our counselors understand the responsibility and privilege of that trust.
They are mentors. Role models. Cheerleaders. Listeners. Leaders. They are the reason camp feels like home.
We are incredibly proud of the team that brings our mission to life every single day, and we can’t wait for your campers to meet them!
Hi, my name is Laheri, and I am a counselor here at Camp T. I love camp because of the amazing people and connections camp has to offer. For fun, I like to read and crochet, but I’m looking for new hobbies as well.

Hi! My name is Max, and I’m excited to be a cabin counselor this summer. I’m currently a freshman studying pre-law at the University of Southern California, but I grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota. So even though I love the sunshine out here, I definitely miss the cool air, lakes, and that friendly Midwest spirit 🙂 This will be my first year at Camp T and I can’t wait to create an unforgettable summer full of laughter, adventure, and new friendships. Fun fact: I love exploring and photographing the world with a disposable camera!
