There’s something magical about the waterfront at Camp T. It’s where laughter carries across Birch Lake, confidence grows with every splash, and campers discover just how much they’re capable of. Whether it’s a first paddle, a triumphant swim test, or the thrill of gliding across the water, the waterfront is at the heart of the Camp T experience.

A Place for Every Camper

From beginners dipping their toes in for the first time to experienced swimmers ready to take on new challenges, the waterfront offers something for everyone. Our waterfront staff create a supportive, encouraging environment where campers can build skills at their own pace. Every success – big or small- is celebrated!

Safety Comes First

Free swimBefore jumping into waterfront activities, all campers complete a swim test to ensure they’re placed in the appropriate ability group. This helps our team provide the right level of supervision and instruction, so every camper feels safe and confident in the water. Lifeguards are always on duty, and safety protocols are woven into every activity.

Swimming & Free Swim

Free swimTwice daily free swim periods give campers the chance to cool off and enjoy time with friends. Whether it’s splashing in the shallow end or venturing out a little farther, free swim is a favorite part of the day. We also offer Red Cross swim lessons, offering six levels of instruction for campers who want to improve their swimming abilities and feel more confident in the water.

Paddle Sports & Exploration

CanoeingCanoeing, kayaking, and stand up paddleboarding invite campers to explore the lake while learning teamwork, balance, and paddling techniques. There’s a special kind of pride that comes from navigating the water under your own power, and maybe even leading your group on a mini adventure.

Sailing Adventures

SailingSailing offers campers a unique blend of skill, strategy, and serenity. With guidance from trained staff, campers learn the basics of rigging, steering, and reading the wind as they take to the water. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of catching a breeze and working together to guide the boat across the lake. Sailing builds confidence, communication, and patience, along with a deep appreciation for the rhythm of the water.

High-Energy Water Sports

For those ready to kick things up a notch, waterskiing and wakeboarding offer an unforgettable adrenaline rush. After passing the required swim test, campers can learn the basics or refine their skills, all while being cheered on by friends from the boat.

Whether casting from the dock or heading out in a kayak for more advanced fishing, campers learn basic fishing skills like baiting a hook, casting a line, and patiently waiting for a bite. It’s not just about what you catch – it’s about the stories shared, the excitement of a tug on the line, and the peaceful moments spent by the water. For many campers, fishing becomes a favorite way to relax and take in the beauty of camp.

Just for Fun
